Kiran Matharu almost accidentally found her way to golfing. As a twelve-year-old she joined her father on a trip to the golf course and hit a few balls. A pro who had observed her said she had exceptional talent and a natural swing. Six months later, Kiran Matharu was part of the Yorkshire Golf Team. Another two years later, she was the youngest player in the first Yorkshire team as well as on the British ladies team. In 2004 and 2005, she won the Faldo Series – thanks to hard work with trainer legend David Leadbetter in America and several meetings with Sir Nick Faldo. In August 2006, Matharu turned pro, being only 17 years old.
